Traffic Wardens Service<\/h6>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Service of the Municipal Traffic Wardens was established with the aim to better regulate traffic and control parking areas within the area of theLarnaka Municipality, as provided for and falling within the responsibilities of the Local Administration Authorities issued pursuant to the provisions of the Extrajudicial Regulation of Offenses Law.<\/p>

Article 88 of the Municipalities Law refers to the powers of the municipalities to control and regulate road traffic. The control and regulation of Road Traffic is done to a degree and extent which is explicitly stated in this article and the relevant Municipal Regulations, issued by the Municipal Council and in agreement with the Chief of Police.<\/p>

In order to better enforce the provisions of article 888 and the relevant regulations, the Municipal Council can appoint Municipal Traffic Wardens who will be employed by the Municipality. The duties of the Municipal Traffic Wardens are relatively limited and basically relate to policing for parking and imposing sanctions for illegal parking.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Extrajudicial Fines<\/h6>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Such fines are issued to persons who commit an offence falling within the responsibilities of the Local Administration Authorities such as Nuisance and Parking, and are issued pursuant to the provisions of the Extrajudicial Regulation of Offences Law.<\/p>

After the notice is issued, no prosecution is ordered before thirty days (30) elapse from the date of issue.<\/p>

If the extrajudicial fine is not paid within fifteen (15) days from the date of issue of the notice, then the extrajudicial fine increases by half and can be paid within thirty (30) days from the date of issue. The payment of the extrajudicial fine is made at the offices of the service on P. Valsamaki street (multi-storey municipal parking lot), 1st<\/sup> floor or by post or online on www.larnaka.com<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
