



Upgrading and Landscaping of Flood Channels in Livadia
Brief Description / Objective:
The project concerns the landscaping and hydrological study of the flood control channels in Livadia and includes retaining walls, gabion walls, the formation of a pedestrian and bicycle path and a surface formation of the riverbed. The aim of the project is to canalize the flood supplies to the sea, to upgrade the resident’s quality of life and to attract visitors to this area from the wider region.
Expected Benefits / Outcomes:
- The creation of conditions for comfortable and safe pedestrian movement in a natural environment
- It will constitute, beyond an axis of walking and exercise, a linear green space that will give quality breath to both the residential units and the wider areas surrounding it.
- The landscaping study is part of a broader design of a network of bicycle paths and pedestrian paths in the Larnaca District and has been integrated into the sustainable urban mobility plan being prepared by the Department of Public Works for the area.
