Landscaping of the Municipal Park “SALINA”

Brief Description / Objective:

The project involves the creation of a municipal park with spaces for active and passive recreation, appropriate landscaping, and enhanced access and use for people with disabilities. The aim of the project is to improve the functionality, aesthetics, and quality of the area.

The park’s design has been planned to serve as a green lung while also providing recreation, relaxation, sports, and social interaction. To achieve this, the park’s design takes into account:

The need for recreational facilities
The potential for the healthy development and revitalization of the urban environment
The improvement and enhancement of the space, through landscaping, enrichment of existing vegetation, and the integration of modern elements that align with the area’s character
The attraction of residents and visitors of all ages
Expanded accessibility and facilities for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
The functional, aesthetic, and qualitative improvement of the space
The connection of the park with the surrounding area and the Larnaca Municipal Garden

Expected Benefits / Outcomes: 

The project will contribute to the upgrading of the urban environment, creating a large green space in the center of Larnaca for both residents and visitors. As a “green lung” in the city, the project will improve air quality and public health, while also promoting social inclusion and accessibility, particularly for PWDs.
