Multipurpose Social Welfare and Employment Center in Larnaka

The project involves the conversion and upgrading of the Larnaca Community Center into a Multipurpose Social Welfare and Employment Center. The works included the demolition of the existing swimming pool and construction of a new building in its place, the upgrading of the main building, the enhancement of the sports field, and the transformation of the outdoor area into a youth activity space.

The facility provides educational and creative activity spaces for socially vulnerable groups. It is used by the Larnaca Municipality Open School and includes an event hall, art, theater, computer, gym and dance, and music workshops, Greek and Turkish language learning rooms, as well as a social clinic and pharmacy.

Additionally, the indoor multipurpose sports hall has been refurbished and is open to the public as part of the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA) “Sports for All” program. The sports field is also available for theatrical and/or musical performances, school or private events, and cultural activities for various communities. The outdoor area includes tennis and basketball courts.

The project was completed in December 2021 with a total eligible budget of €4.2 million.
